Sometimes you find yourself in need of tortilla chips and you don't have time to run out to the store. If you have some corn tortillas in the fridge, you can make these easy air fryer tortilla chips in no time! Not only are they so quick to make, but they are healthier than your typical fried tortilla chip. These tortilla chips made in the air fryer require minimal oil and you can make so many different flavor variations!
Ingredients
One of the great things about homemade tortilla chips, is that it requires minimal ingredients. Just three items are needed to make this recipe.
How To Make Tortilla Chips in the Air Fryer
STEP 1: Cut your tortillas into triangles. A pizza cutter works surprisingly well for this task.
STEP 2: Add your tortillas to the air fryer basket. A little overlapping is ok but you don't want the basket to be too crowded. If you're making a lot, it's best to work in batches.
STEP 3: Spray your tortillas with a little avocado oil spray, sprinkle with flaky sea salt and use your hands to toss and make sure all your tortillas get a little of the salt and oil spray. At this point, if using the lime, I also add it here.
STEP 4: Air fry your tortillas at 400 degrees for about 7 minutes. I check the basket every few minutes or so to check out the progress. All air fryers vary a bit and some of the tortilla chips air fry faster than others. If some are done before the 7 minute mark, I use tongs to remove them while the rest cook. Aim for the level of crispness you prefer.
Step 5: Serve with your favorite Salsa Fresca and guacamole or top with cheese for some delicious homemade nachos!
