The amount of nude lip colors I have in my makeup arsenal is a little ridiculous. But if you’re a true makeup lover like I am, you know that they are all different and special in their own way. Matte, shiny, lipsticks pencils, glosses, creams – the possibilities are endless when it comes to shades and finishes! I love rocking a bright color every now and then but my favorites for my day to day routine are different shades of the perfect neutral. That “your lips but better” shade. So today, I am sharing with you my top nude lip products.
In this list I have nude colors in several different shades as well as different formulas. I typically love mattes but there is always room for variety with some glosses or creamy lip crayons. I seriously try so hard to talk myself out of buying a new nude lip color but somehow I always manage to find a way to justify it. “Well this one is more peachy pink than pinky peach.” I know, I know. I have issues. Anyway, let’s get started with this list of top nude lip products.
MAC Cosmetics Lipstick
I have several favorites from MAC so I will list them all here under this section.
Yash (Matte)
Yash lipstick is described as a deep neutral. It’s a deeper/darker beige with a more tan or almost rust like undertone. I wear this one when I want a little more color than my typical nude.
Really Me (Matte)
Really Me is different from my usual peachy shades. This is a muted neutral pink that comes off as a mauve-y color on my skin tone. It looks great with a more cool toned makeup look.
Honeylove (Matte)
Honeylove lipstick is my all-time favorite lipstick in the history of lipsticks. My number one top nude lip product if you will. According to MAC Cosmetics, it’s a light beige with a hint of rose. It is the PERFECT nude for me. Perfect shades of nude are obviously different for everyone but for this light-medium warm toned gal, this color is perfection. It’s a great matte color that doesn’t feel drying or cakey.
Shrimpton (Satin)
This color could be Honey Loves fraternal twin. The difference is that Shrimpton is a satin finish where Honey Love is a matte so if you’re not a fan of a matte finish but you love the color, this is a great match with a creamier formula. It’s a true beige shade.
Velvet Teddy (Matte)
Velvet Teddy is described as a deep beige color. This is a great nude for a more medium-dark skin tone. This is probably my darkest nude shade but I love having a little more depth of color especially if I am keeping my eye makeup to a minimum.
NUDESTIX Intense Matte Lip + Cheek Pencil
NUDESTIX are newer to me but once I tried 2 colors I immediately was ready to try more.
This formula is amazing! Not drying and the perfect matte opaque coverage with great color payoff. The coverage this formula provides also improves the overall smoothness and general appearance of my lips. I can’t say enough good things about them! It comes with a case and a little sharpener. I do need to sharpen them every so often because once it gets down to a little nub you still get the color payoff but the precision of application goes down a bit. I’ve never used them as a cheek color because I prefer powder blush so I can’t comment on that but as a lip product: PERFECTION!
Tamed
The website describes Tamed color as a “cool toned rose tan”. On me, the color is a pinky brown nude and I love it. It’s different than my usual peach nudes. It truly goes with so many different makeup looks and cheek colors.
Entice
Entice is described as a warm toned peachy tan and that description is perfect. Clearly I am all about the peachy nudes.
Bare Minerals GEN NUDE Buttercream Lipgloss
Groovy
Finally a gloss! First of all, doesn’t “buttercream gloss” just sound nice? Groovy is described as a soft pinky beige. It’s a super basic shade that I like on it’s own or over another lipstick to alter the shade. It is an opaque and kind of milky formula so it doesn't necessarily need a color underneath but it’s great for changing up some of your current lip colors. Because of the “milkiness” quality, I don’t know if it’s the best for darker skin tones but if you’re on the light/medium side, it works great.
Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick
Wifey
Wifey is described as a delicate pinkish nude. On my skin tone, I don’t know if I would call this a delicate color as it does tend to darken after application but it is definitely a pinkish nude. This is a very matte formula and like most mattes, the staying power is great. It can tend to get a little drying on the inside of your lips giving you the little telltale ring however, it’s nothing another quick swipe of color or some lip balm can’t fix. For reference, I am wearing this color in my Every Day Makeup Routine post.
NYX Butter Gloss
I mention my love of NYX Butter Gloss is my favorite drugstore products post. These glosses don’t do much in the way of staying power but they feel silky smooth on the lips and the colors range is great. The two I love are Éclair and Crème Brulee. Éclair is a light pinky mauve color and Crème Brulee is light neutral beige. If you’re looking for great gloss colors at a good price and don’t mind reapplying during the day, this is your jam.
I could probably go on and on about nude lip colors but these are some of my top nude lip products and the ones I use most often. Have any other ones I need to check out? Lemme know in the comments!
